I have not posted anything in awhile. Every time I try to upload photos, my wordpress says I’ve reached my space quota.
So words will have to do. I just got back from Chile and California. I went to Chile to compete in a film competition. We had an incredible ensemble we called Team Discrete. Parker Cook, Rachael Burks, John Roderick, Chris Bezamat and Ben Wheeler. We won a couple of awards when it was all done and said. Here is the video:
I flew straight to California to conduct a photo shoot for Discrete’s 12/13 products. We worked with amazing photographer, Paige Lowe, she is incredible. It was a long weekend, lots of good shots as a result. The crew was Parker Cook, Paige, Chloe Lee, Jen Hudak and Skyler Thomas aka judge ito.
I am back in SLC for the time being, no trips on the horizon. First time I’ve been stationary with no plans around the corner. I am excited to conduct interviews for my first hire for Discrete next week. I am hiring a customer service/warehouse manager. This person will wear a few more hats, but that is the gist. I now have a CFO and have a Sales Manager in place for the upcoming sales cycle as well. We’ll aslo have a few interns on board. For the last 4 years I have had lots of help with Discrete, but I have been the main person, I am very excited to have 4+ people putting their effort into the brand this year, while I maintain the role of CEO. All of the pieces that need to be in place for the growth I’ve envisioned is in place. It’s exciting. I am attending the international tradeshow called ISPO in Germany in January right after SIA tradeshow in Denver. Our ads for the 11/12 product are hitting news stands next week. Our revamped website is going live early September with direct sales now built into the site. I am receiving all our 11/12 product from various factories over the world, that I will organize in my new office/warehouse and begin shipping out orders in 3 weeks. ETC. So many moving pieces, luckily I find I enjoy the process. I look forward to focusing on my business and my health. For you can’t have all your focus go into only one thing, I need balance. My pursuit is to go to the gym every day at 8:30 am, eat breakfast, then to the office, out of office by 4pm to take dogs out on a hike in the early evening. And read more at night. If I can stick to this schedule 3 to 4 days a week - I will be able to accomplish all I need to and have plenty of energy along the way. All to begin next week.
Excited for the obstacles and opportunities that lay around the corner and, as always, look forward to working with amazing and inspiring people.
That’s it for now. CIAO.
