Targhee wrap up

There are a zillion zones like this EVERYWHERE! Grand Targhee is the shit! I can’t believe I haven’t been there before this year. I’m rolling back here whenever it dumps huge, which it does all the time I hear.

Look at that! I skied two lines down the lookers right of the photo, some nice turns to a mandatory 100′er! So soft, so fun! Rachael and Todd went enourmous, and skied some amazing stuff on this face!

That sight doesn’t get old.

We made some new friends along the way on our trip. This is my boy Justin endorsing the Discrete campaign!

Another heavy hitting local, Mike Leake, let me dial his sick Van with a brand new fresh Discrete sticker. He also sported the bright green Discrete Doyonator proud!

Rach/I & Todd/Rach

On the way back to Utah last night, the odometer struck 100,000! Super fun trip to Targhee! Can’t wait to get back next season, still can’t believe we just got it as good as we did considering it is mid-April…

Interlodge Line up

A few days ago, Utah got one of those storms that shut down the mountain for two days, Little Cottonwood canyon was closed and no one could leave the buildings they were staying in. I was lucky enough to be “stuck” up at Alta, at the Peruvian Lodge. After a day of the mountain being shut down, they let us out at 8:30am to make a mad dash for the chairlifts. Here is how it looked at 8:35am. 40″ + to be had. And unexpected bluebird.

Grand Teton

We had a beautiful day #2 at Grand Targhee. Here is a shot from up top Mary’s Nipple, with the Grand Teton in the distance.

Grand Targhee bound

The zone today was intimidating at first glance, but workable the more you looked at it, and realized how deep it was.

Our crew. TGR filmer Dustin Handley, photographer Chris Bezamat, Targhee patroller Nick, Todd Ligare, Rachael Burks, and two local kids that stopped by to say hello, Chandler and Steven.

Nuclear Winter! Stuck at Alta!

Staring out the window, in the Alta Peruvian Lodge, at nuclear winter and stuck inside! Ahhhh! Going crazy! Look at all that pow! It snowed 28″ overnight, 14″ additional today, 70 mph winds. Canyon road is closed for the day/night, EVERYONE is interlodged, no one can leave the building. No one is skiing today. Tomorrow is gonna be 40″ of ridiculousness.
