This is actually a shot of the full moon we started our hike out with at 4:00am. Our goal was to be on top of Cardiac Ridge at 7:00am for sunrise.

We were very close to the top when the sun decided to rise out in the east past Alta ski resort. Very beautiful.

I framed the self-portrait up pretty nice if I must say so.

There is the first light hitting Mt. Superior, very cool, incredible pink light, nothing like it. TGR filmed the day, we were hoping to be on top of our lines for the pink light, but we were about 30 minutes late! Oh well, the light was still amazing, just not that super pink you only get for that first 10 minutes when the sun rises. The ridges we were traversing on Superior were a little gnarlier than expected.

Ok enough sightseeing, back to hiking…. Todd Ligare and Forrest Shearer putting one foot after another on Superior ridge en route to Cardiac.

Snowboarder Neil Provo soaking it up, making a movie for himself of the day’s adventure. It was his first sunrise mission!

I don’t have any photos of Cardiac, but we all skied/shredded lines through Cardiac, and next we were on to Ivory Flakes… Todd and I hiked up there and you can barely see our tracks if you look closely.

This photo shows the line I skied today, the photo was from last season, but I wanted to go back and ski it again, such a fun line! This time I front flipped the 2nd air! Photo by: Mongoose

And that’s that. Lots of hiking, two very fun lines I was lucky to ski today with safe conditions and deep snow!

dude, sounds like such an awesome mission. I’m hoping someone was filming this. Stoked to see that stuff get skied, as it was probably the first zone I eyed last Tuesday.
