I have that yellow beacon Billy has on, it reminds me of him. It’s on my shelf in my room.

Billy and I about to scarf a pickled egg at Bar-X. Yummy.

Billy and my mom, Leslie Carr, chatting it up. She says, “so I saw you go big in that last issue of POWDER?”, he replies, “yeah, that’s what I do, I’m good”. Ha, just kidding. We were just kicking back listening to music at an outdoor bar.

Billy Poole. Hard as nails.

Me, Billy, and his mom Phyllis.

Billy, all of us, enjoying a good dinner in South America. I think we were at a winery this night. Going to Ski Arpa the next day, a small cat skiing operation in the Andes. Look at that goggle tan!

Billy and I sending it at the same time at Jackson Hole. It was both of our first times there. He’s in the dark red coat/white pants on the right, I’m on the left. I remember that exact moment in my head. We had such a great time on this trip. Still need to get back to Jackson…

Billy making it look pretty in Las Lenas Argentina. He is a legend down there. Everyone knows and reveres Beeeeely.

The Third Annual Ski Salt Lake Shootout Is On!
- February 21-27, 2010 -
Salt Lake City (October 2009) —Riding the overwhelming success of countless published gallery images and magazine covers, the Ski Salt Lake Shootout is back for its third consecutive year, pairing professional ski photographers and local professional athletes to battle it out for cash prizes and bragging rights as they attempt to capture the magic of the Cottonwood Canyon resorts and Ski Salt Lake through stunning imagery February 21-27, 2010.
Ski Salt Lake and its four resort partners—Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude—are pairing six of the world’s most recognized ski photographers with the best local big-mountain skiers in a peak-packed venue, the famed Wasatch Mountains, that receives more than 500 inches of “The Greatest Snow on Earth” each year. Two coveted positions will also be filled by local photographers poised to break onto the scene with their undiscovered talent behind the lens. As an added bonus for shooting last year’s Grand Prize image, photographer Ilja Herb is being invited back to defend his title.
Ski Salt Lake is pleased to announce Subaru as the official car of the 2010 Ski Salt Lake Shootout, joining long-time partner, Dynastar/Lange. Additionally, Ski Salt Lake is partnering with backcountry/freeskiing powerhouse Black Diamond Equipment in promoting the Shootout and Black Diamond’s Big Lepowski event.
