SPYDER jacket Design

Spyder informed me last fall I was chosen to design a jacket for their 09/10 line.I wanted to share our first mock-up via computer sketch:

We’ve found a very cool fabric that is a blend of cotton

and polyester and has an almost raised pattern texture

on the surface. It uses a cotton but also has polyester

to help wicking and drying. What’s totally new is the

fabric is from Gore Performance - so quality is superior.

It’s a first to use cotton and polyester together in a

ski apparel fabric from Gore. Here is a shot of the Fabric:

I am excited to see the coat develop and color ways. I basically wanted a
coat without any extra bells and whistles - just a solid coat to be in the
mountains, with all the imperative features for skiing, hiking, and being in
the backcountry every day. Like a solid chin cuff, awesome pit zips, an
articulated slender tall fit, a fixed hood,
60gms of thinsulate (warm but not bulky), and relaxed arms.
